Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Plans 2021

Medicare Part C plans, called Medicare Advantage, provide seniors with extensive coverage to help minimize their medical expenses. Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plans for 2021 are some of the best options for people looking for a low-cost and high-value Part C plan.

What Does Part C Do?

Medicare Part C is meant to replace Original Medicare, which is made up of Medicare parts A and B. You’ll still get some of that coverage for parts A and B from your basic Medicare plan, but most of it will be rerouted through the Part C plan with your new provider. If you sign up with Blue Cross, for example, then they would become your new Medicare Part A and Part B provider.

Part C doesn’t just rehash the coverage of a basic Medicare plan. It goes much further for you, filling some coverage gaps and extending your healthcare protection. Part C will cover you for all emergency medical care, including what basic Medicare does not cover for you. That would be all of your ambulance services and ER care. It also covers any medical care considered to be urgently needed. This can include medical tests, some medications, a second opinion from a doctor, surgeries and more.

Blue Cross also sells some Medicare Part C plans that will cover all of that we just told you about, plus Medicare Part D. Now, that is a prescription drug program that includes coverage for many generic and name brand medications. You can get the full Part D plan within your Part C plan, giving you a powerful plan that leaves you very little to pay out of your own pockets.

You could also get a Medicare Part C plan from Blue Cross that covers many of your routine checkups for the year. You can be covered for multiple visits to the optometrist, dentist, hearing specialist and your general practitioner. If you need new eyeglasses or a new hearing aid, then those costs can be covered as well.

You can choose from several different Medicare Part C plans, and each company has their own lineup. We want to tell you why you should consider Blue Cross as a potential insurance provider for these plans.

What Blue Cross Has to Offer

One way that Blue Cross Blue Shield stands out from its competition is that it offers very affordable, very competitive pricing. They are known for their low rates, and you can see that here on our site if you source some quotes. Our site is very good at finding you a list of local rates on Medicare Part C plans, so you can see quickly and easily who has the best deals and how the different insurance companies compare on Medicare Part C pricing. Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plans for 2021 are some of the most economical insurance plans you can get.

That is because they offer so much coverage and yet are so affordably priced, ensuring tons of value for the consumer. Some insurance companies will offer a bunch of member perks to make their insurance plans more appealing, and Blue Cross doesn’t really do much of that. By avoiding some of that extra fluff, they can afford to make their insurance plans much cheaper than the competition.

Blue Cross does offer its members a great customer service experience, though. They make it simple to file insurance claims and are very transparent about their pricing and what kinds of expenses they would be covering. That way, you always know what you are responsible for as a Blue Cross Part C subscriber.

The Blue Cross Network

Blue Cross is available in most states and most areas of the country. Their extensive network means that you can find a Blue Cross provider just about anywhere, and there are limits as to how much coverage you can get if you don’t stay on their network.

The standard Part C plan that Blue Cross offers is known as an HMO plan. This covers you only on their network. Going outside of their network to a medical facility not associated with Blue Cross means that you are responsible for the entirety of your healthcare bill for services provided there.

PPO plans let you get coverage anywhere, though. They give you full coverage on the network and then partial coverage outside of it. For that extensive coverage and convenience, you do have to pay higher premium each month than you would with an HMO plan. You’ll have to decide which of these might be right of you- HMO or PPO. There may be other choices available as well depending on where you live and what kind of eligibility you have.

How You Can Enroll

Are you interested in signing up for a Blue Cross Part C plan for the coming year? If so, you will need to be at least 65 years old. There may be exceptions made for some people, such as those who have disability.

You can sign up around our 65th birthday, enrolling up to three months before your birthday month. You have until three months after your birthday month to enroll, which gives you a window of seven months in which to apply. This is definitely the best time to enroll, but you can also apply for Medicare Part C anytime afterwards from October 15th until December 5th. You will pay a higher monthly rate at that time, and you may not be guaranteed to be accepted for the plan you want, so take that into consideration. However this October to December enrollment period comes around every year.

Are Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plans 2021 right for you? If you have questions, please give us a call, and if you want to know how much this plans cost and how they compare to the competition, then perform a search here on our site. You will get a list of plans and quotes to look through that can help you to make an informed decision.
